Sacred Sites Exhibition - April 2010

25th March 2010
A project close to my heart will get it's first outing at eat@thepark café from 1st to 30 April.

Sussex photographer Fay Godwin’s landscapes of the Isle of Lewis were the first images that roused my affinity with the sacred sites of England. Years on they inspired the ‘Sacred’ project from which these images are drawn.

These images are part of an ongoing project recording the many aspects of what may be sacred to different communities and individuals. Fascinated by the unseen energy that draws people to the sites I have attempted to capture the spirit of the place as well as the form.

On show are a selection of ancient megalithic sites, the subjects of pilgrimage and ritual and trees that are used as a focus for prayers of well-being as well as meeting places for sacred ceremonies.
