Between Land and Sea

This project represents a journey along the local coast, seeking to capture the landmarks that occupy the space where the land meets the sea. By using “Slow Photography” it is my intention to evoke a feeling for the solidity yet impermanence of our coastline, both natural and manmade.

From an abandoned fishing boat, various groynes and shipping markers that erode and are replaced, piers that survive the ravages of time only to be burnt down, a lighthouse living on the edge, to a place of lost souls, eroded cliffs and on to a historic harbour arm left to deteriorate. Outwardly always present yet ever-changing – nothing stays the same.
